Privacy Policy

MuPlayer is designed to need as little of your data as possible. This page explains what the apps and the website handle, where it goes, and what never leaves your TV.

What stays on your TV

Everything you set up lives in the app's own storage on the device and is not sent to us:

Uninstalling the app removes all of it. On Android TV you can also clear it from the system's app settings.

Requests the app makes

ToWhenWhat is sent
Your provider (the addresses in your playlist)Loading the playlist, streams, thumbnails, logos, guide data and catch-upWhatever the playlist URLs contain, typically your subscription identifier. This traffic is between you and your provider and is covered by their privacy policy, not ours.
muplayer.app sign-in serviceOnly when you type a short sign-in code instead of a playlist addressThe code. The service answers with the playlist address. Standard server logs record the request time and IP address.
muplayer.app version checkAt most every six hours while the app is openA plain request for the current version number. Standard server logs record the request time, IP address and app version.

The app contains no analytics, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter and no account system. It does not read contacts, location, microphone or camera. The Android app declares only the internet permission.

Server logs

Like any web server, muplayer.app keeps short-lived access logs (IP address, time, requested path, user agent) for security and capacity planning. They are deleted within 30 days and are not combined with any other data or shared.

Custom builds from providers

A provider may distribute a MuPlayer build that already knows your subscription, so you do not have to type anything. That identifier belongs to the provider, not to us. The build behaves exactly like the standard app otherwise.

The website

muplayer.app serves static pages. It sets no cookies and loads no third-party trackers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads; see Google's privacy policy for how they handle it. Store links take you to Google, LG or Samsung, whose own policies then apply.

Children

MuPlayer is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone. Content shown through a playlist is the responsibility of the provider and of the person who set the TV up.

Your rights

Because we hold no account or profile about you, there is nothing to export or correct on our side. If you believe we hold personal data about you in server logs, write to us and we will check and delete it where the law requires.

Changes

We will update this page if the app starts handling data differently. The date at the top shows the current version.
